Sunny Days

Day three of the SonShine week... So far this week we have looked after 300 kids each morning, entertained wee mums and grannys in our coffee morning, pampered ladies through the Shelter team, visited several hundred doors, cleaned pub toilets, given out hundreds of free newspapers, taken 45ish young people out for watersports, raced around the back car park on mini-motos, painted a house, cleaning up the play park, celebrated with a family fun night at the pitches... and thats only the first few days!!!

Tonight sees the Shelter team welcome more ladies into the Upper Room for an evening, and the Diamond is being taken over by a selection of strong men!! Come along and see for yourself.......

What a week so far.......

So its Wednesday and this place has been mad so far, but its fantastic. There is something so amazing about having the opportunity just to serve, no preaching required, as the saying goes........go into the world and preach the gospel....if necessary use words. These are the words on the back of our SonShine T-Shirt this year and they encompass what its about for all of us. We are so thankful for the blessings of our week and the fun we have been having, all glory to our Lord God Almighty. So towards the end of the week we hope to have alot of pictures up and a video of the week.

Washing Feet

This morning we looked at John 13:1-17, where Jesus washes the disciples feet. Love made our Master serve, and that same love should compel us to put a towel around our waist and kneel down. We were challenged to see the needs, and just go meet them...

A Cup Of Cold Water

Tonight Jeff reminded us of the power of small acts of kindness. We looked at Matthew 10 v 34 - 42 where Jesus talks about losing our lives in order to find them.

We were reminded that although we long to do 'great and mighty' things for God, we find ourselves more often in situations were we are required to be faithful in the small things. Our lives, and our faith, consist of the regular, every-day choices we make, more than the one big event we get to be a part of once in our lifetime. Jeff also reminded us of the impact our small acts can have, that while they may mean very little to us, they can literally be a miracle to someone else.

Pray as we come into this week that God would work through our small acts of kindness to provide miracles for the brokenhearted...

SonShine week training weekend starts tonight folks... Meeting together in the Washbasin at 7.30pm for some worship before we head out to Portglenone Forest for some fun and games... just don't wear your good clothes!

Well here we all are, as of Monday 3rd July, SonShine 2006 will begin, so much happening dont think I could explain it all. But in brief 270 kids have been registered for the kids club and the theme is Grand Prix Winners, oh thats gonna be mad….. There is our lovely Streetreach team doing the daily “love” thing with our local shops and people in the village, watch out for the free newspapers… monday night is fun night at the pitches, thats gonna be pretty cool, Shelter is on each day in the Upper Room for the ladies, on the Friday night Ray Beaven will be with us to bring us a special talk. Really looking forward to this week, there will be a daily update with pics and maybe a video at the end of the week. Please keep us in your prayers. Love you all……Andrew
